Description

This is an aerial perspective of a surreal war field. The colours are playful and the lines are bold and curvilinear, making the ammunition of the two warring parties whip-like and acrobatic. The artist openly admits to being inspired by popular culture and this piece was inspired by a movie with a well-known peace-loving-panda. Hence, between the lines lie an array of black spears countered by an array of white spears. The black and white blobs are pandas in action from a 90 degree top-to-down aerial perspective. A lot of Roshni's works in this series resemble geographical maps and they were all painted on the ground. The artist's athleticism was tested and there was resulting back injuries. The violence implied in the title and the process is intentional and went along with personal and global bubble-bursts. The current climate has been frustrating, economically and that has had a ripple effect directly or indirectly world-over. There is hope! Therefore, with vibrant colour and a little perspective, the artist has attempted to add positivity to what seems to be a total mess.
