Description

Sugreev’s raj tilak(reinstated as King of Kishkindha) post-Bali's death and hanuman going to Lanka, Hanuman meeting Sursa, and meeting Vibhishan: This painting has four parts: The upper left part shows Sugreeva reinstated as the King after defeating Bali of Kishkindha kingdom. Upper right part shows the encounter of Sri Hanuman with Sursa, who was the mother of snakes on his way to Lanka to find Ma Sita. She wanted to eat him up . as soon as she opened her mouth, Hanuman grew bigger in size. this kept on going until she could not open her mouth any further. Hanuman took a very tiny form then and quickly went inside her mouth and came out. She was just testing Hanuman’s strength and abilities and blessed him that he would succeed in his mission. Lower left part shows Sri Hanuman crossing the vast ocean on his way to Lanka, the kingdom of Demon King Ravana. Lower right part shows Sri Hanuman meeting Vibhishan, the younger brother in Lanka. When Sri Hanuman reached Lanka, he saw places filled with blood and sacrifices and he was moving around he heard the name “Ram” coming out from one of the rooms of Ravana’s great palace. He finally saw a demon couple worshiping Lord Ram. He was none other than the younger brother of Ravana and his wife.
