The painting deals with Nostalgia. It revolves around the huge farm house and the agricultural fields that my grandfather owned in a village, and where I spent winter/summer vacations in my childhood. I was always enchanted by the view of the small hamlet from the balcony above the entrance. The villagers would rest on the platforms on either side of the entrance. The sunflowers in my Grandfather’s farm, always looking towards the sun and supporting each other would brighten up my mind and fill the heart with pleasure. The vision of the Wada, the backdrop of mountains, the temples, tiled roofed houses, the bullock carts and the bright sunflowers are all that I need to enliven my mood even when hundreds of miles away.
