About Artist

Art isn't my fulltime profession, I am passionate about it. It is the medium through which I communicate my way of seeing the world outside. I tell stories, depict events, express feelings. I use bold colors, graphic lines, sometimes mix techniques, prefer working with Acrylic, Water Color, Crayons, Pen & Ink on Canvas or Paper. I am not a realist, I express. I have an eye for home décor, I grew up in and now live in a well curated home, hence have a point of view on how a piece of art can look on a wall. All my work that I will put up here can be hung on contemporary to a classic home or hotel. It will definitively transform your home / hotel, like I have seen in mine. I am here to share that joy. When not painting - I head HR & OD for IG Petrochemicals Limited. I have a graduate diploma in fine arts from Visva Bharti University, which I had pursued along with conventional studies. I am skilled with basic techniques like any other art student. However, in the dean and bustle of livelihood earning, the passion that still burn like fire - My Art : My way of seeing the world somehow got lost. But, as I near 40, I realized there is no better time to start, as life is short. Episode 2 begins !!!

In Kolkata, erstwhile Calcutta buying fresh fish in the morning and evening is a watch worthy affair. There's a mix of noise, smell, arguments around the prices and a competition among buyers to get the best catch of the day. This painting depicts that cacophony in my own unique style, the colors depict the religious mix of these sellers, one is a Hindu who is in the middle of bargain discussion to have the final negotiation on her booty the other depicted in green is Muslim who looks on. Fish unites everyone, well that's Calcutta for you. I have chosen water color textured paper to give it a canvas like background, also to have the the flexibility to do water on water background through Water color and Painted the Subjects in Acrylic and Pen to give it a firm poster like finish.
