Lord Ram asking back his wife Sita from Agni (Fire God): This painting shows Ma Sita standing on a pyre of fire and Lord Ram overlooking at her. We all know how Demon King Ravana tricked Ma Sita disguised as a sage and kidnapped her and kept her in Ashoka Vatika in Lanka until Lord Rama fought and defeated the demonic king to get his wife. When Ravana came to abduct Sita, he didn’t know that she was not the real Sita but Maya Sita(her shadow). While going for exile Lord Rama prayed to Agni (the Fire God) to keep his wife safe and in return, Agni accepted Sita as her daughter and took her in the flame of fire creating her shadow to live with Lord Rama during the exile. So, Ravana took away with him the Maya Sita and Lord Rama being an incarnation of Lord Vishnu was also aware of this and he fought with Ravana only to fulfill his “Karma” (the reason for his birth on earth) and to establish “Dharma”(the path of righteousness and humanity) and to free Ravana from the curse of his previous life. So after safely rescuing Sita from the custody of Ravana Lord Rama requests Sita and Agni to return to the fire and bring back the real Sita to life who remained untainted from the touch of Ravana.
