Ram, Sita, and Lakshman taking permission from King Dashratha and Kaushalya before leaving for exile: King Dashratha was completely shocked after he heard the demands of his wife Kaikeyi. Kaikeyi wished for her son to be the King and the other one was that Ram should spend next fourteen years in exile as an ascetic. Since King Dashratha owed his wife two boons so he could not say a “No”. On hearing, this Lord Ram felt obliged to be able to fulfill the terms of the boons his father was forced by his wife to agree to. Lord Ram went to his mother Kaushalya and told her this decision of going to the forest and she was proud to know this decision of his son. When Lord Ram shared this decision with Sita and Lakshman, they both were eager to follow him. Here we see three of them leaving on their exile of 14 years and taking permission from King Dashratha and Ma Kaushalya.
