Sunil Das was one of India's most important postmodernist painters and rose to prominence through his drawings of horses. He captured their relentless temperament in a series of series of short flowing lines that seem to arrest them in motion.He first gained prominence with his horse paintings; he says he has painted over 7,000 horses between 1950-60!
