About Artist
Natu Parikh is widely known for his contribution in Gujarat's art scene. His landscapes and seascapes have always been of immense use and inspiration for many young artists over the years. Born in 1931, 83-year-old Parikh still paints rigorously with a disciplined attitude and equal enthusiasm. He is a student of ‘Kalaguru’ Shri Rasiklal Parikh, the master Shri NS Bendre and leading art historian Shri VR Amberkar. With more than 50 solo and group shows, he has exhibited his art works across national and International arena. He was also honoured with several awards including the Gaurav Purashkar in 2010. He wrote several critiques on art and also featured in publications, seminars and television programmes.
Apart from painting, he spent 30 years of his life as an eminent lecturer of Ahmedabad’s leading art college Sheth CN College of Fine Arts. His outstanding sense of creativity was appreciated by the research scholarship from the Gujarat state on ‘Murals on the walls of the towns of Kaira District’. His works can be found in the collection of prominent art collectors, leading interiors and architects, art lovers, students, private and public organizations.
