Description
Jayanta’s art is extremely modern and contemporary. His sculptures are usually a three dimensional representation of mass and volume but his work seems weightless and nebulous. It is the speciality of his art. The tremor of the pulse of present-day society can be felt in it. A vacuum has been created; curse to our modernity. Jayanta’s exhibition titled ‘Voice of Air’ echoes society’s frantic urge to conceal this vacuum by an extravaganza of colourful exterior. The sculptures present the unification of concept, form, colour scheme and ornamentation. They are a complete whole. The medium (fiberglass) and colour have been perfectly applied in the balloon-form to express the brittle, vulnerable times.
