Atish Mukherjee’s deep understanding of rural art manifests itself in his canvasses and his sculptures, both in his employment of medium, and in the way he uses flora and fauna as imagery. His fascination with folk-art led him to experiment with forms and concepts. He researches his medium before working with it, be it tempera on stretched cloth, metal or terracotta. This three-dimensional work too reflects his deep understanding of rural art, and his perception of all elements of nature. Atish’s artworks are one of a kind, as he is constantly reinventing himself.
