Along with being a distinguished artist himself, Maanas is the son of another eminent artist, Aloke Lal. Maanas is driven by a spirit of innovation, and has developed his own technique of bringing together the two genres of painting and photography to produce what he calls Mix-media Painting. An engineer by education, he decided to pursue his passion in art as a profession. He works in several genres of art and has held numerous exhibitions of his work in cities across India. He has participated in over a dozen exhibitions. His works feature primarily landscapes and abstracts and they have received critical as well as commercial acclaim.
