Etching & Aquatint on paper Serigraph on Acrylic.
The ten prints in this exhibition are from the larger installation. The Gallery of Anxiety, which is comprised of a gallery of guns, a gallery of ammunition, and a gallery of vehicles of war installed to simulate galleries of weapons in museums of war. The artist’s etchings simulate the nakshi kantha, often even drawing motifs from these traditional quilts of Bangladesh. The etchings are further layered with children’s drawings reflective of the anxieties generated in them by war and its current avatar, terror. The acrylic sheet forms a apart of the frame.
