Description

King Dashrath and wife Kaikeyi’s conversation: As soon as Lord Ram was coronated as the King of Ayodhya, Kaikeyi’s favorite maid Manthara got really envious. She went and filled her ears with her evil thoughts. She told her that if Lord Ram becomes the King, Kaushalya who was Lord Ram’s mother will get all the importance and King Dashratha will start treating her as a slave. She told Kaikeyi that to turn this around she must use the boons given to her by King Dashratha long ago. Instigated by her Kaikeyi goes into the Kopbhawan (sulking room), threw off her jewels and sat in an angry pose. Here we can see King Dashratha visiting his wife Kaikeyi and asking her the cause of her distress and anger and Manthra behind them overhearing the conversation.
