About Artist

Born in 1968 in Mundakayam, a highrange town in Kottayam, Sunil was an accomplished student of drawing and painting, a skill that manifested itself in him from an early age. He took his degree in Applied Arts from Raja Ravivarma College of Fine Arts ,Mavelikkara. Sunil brings with him over twenty five years of top-notch experience in the advertising industry. He brought alive catchy ads, brochures and posters. He has worked on international brands and has directed ad films for multinational companies. The corporate film he created for a venture of Indian cricket legend Kapildev adds a feather to his cap. Sunil’s works have found their place in numerous exhibits and have been featured in several solo shows. His foray into social media earned him widespread recognition and acceptance among fans and collectors. Sunil concentrated on water colour painting and is an outstanding exponent of the medium. He is among the artists from India who excelled in this light sensitive and hard to re work medium. Sunil was one among the five from our country who were referred to in ‘ INTERNATIONAL WATER COLOUR ARTISTS’ a book published from America which featured 39 eminent artists from 32 different countries. The book is available at amazon.Com. His work has been chosen along with that of the maestros MF Hussain and Nandalal Boss for the story book published by Encyclopedia Britanica in partnership with KATHA, a globally renowned pablisher of translations in India. He had the opportunity to take part in workshops and lead demonstration classes organised by Lalithakala Academy. Sunil has held regular one-man exhibitions of his work that portrayed modest views of rural life. In each work he expresses his love of spontaneity, shape, light and colour. The world class works done by him adore many galleries in India and abroad. He is especially drawn to painting village scenes, depicting nostalgic events and the changing times. Renowned artist and curator sri.Boss Krishnamachari had bought Sunil’s painting Nostalgia which was exhibited at the former State exhibition. Sunil‘s landscape paintings are vibrant rich portrayal of the land around him.
