'Varanasi Ghat at Night,'is the third of my Varanasi series done with bold, quick strokes of oil colours with pallete knife.It tries to capture thye spirit of the Ghat at night, a different kind of 'nightlife,' with people sitting and casually chatting after a hard day's toil.The bright arc of light issuing from a lamp post, casts a surreal glow on the steps and platform, creating a striking contrast with the surrounding darkness.
