Based in Baroda, Shrimanti Saha completed a BVA and an MVA in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Art, M.S University, Baroda. The artist’s drawings and paintings are inspired by a range of sources, including history, mythology, science-fiction, nature and her personal experiences. Her works are research-oriented, driven mainly by the content in them.
Saha received the Inlaks Fine Arts Award in 2015 and was a runner up for the Glenfiddich Emerging Artist Award in 2014. A recipient of the Krishnakriti Scholarship, she has also participated in residencies such as the Taj Residency and Ske Project, Bangalore, 2015 and Kalakriti Artist-in-Residence, Hyderabad, 2015. She has been part of numerous group shows, and also has experience working as a freelance illustrator and storyboard artist for advertisement agencies.
