About Artist
Born and brought up in the artistic city of Bengal, Krishnendu Chatterjee has inherited the nuances that the town has to offer. Vividly depicted first in his art works, and then in his stint as a creative person for over 17 years in advertising, architecture and human study have been the keystones of Krishnendu's works. Collating various aspects of society and culture, he has endeavoured to capture the myriad shades of human struggle on his lens. With virtuosity hard to find, each photograph by him deflects light on a speaking face, a story gone untold. Avidly fascinated with religion, his images abound in the richness of the Muslim culture - the purity of wazu, the sublimity of Jama Masjid, the architectural heritage of the Qutab.
Having studied Delhi for the past 6 years, it is a commanding passion that has made him the capturer of silent, moving ethnology of the soul and sounds of Delhi. The exploration of Delhi remains but a chapter out of his wider work of projecting the city of contrasts. An imaginative photographer for both the fine arts and commercial sites, Krishnendu lives in Delhi and works devotedly from his own studio.
