Born in 1969, Jathar completed his diploma in art education from the J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai in 1993, and an MFA from R.S.T.M, Nagpur University, Nagpur in 2001. He has participated in various solo and group shows, nationally and internationally, and is currently an art lecturer at the Government Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur. If the humble line holds innumerable structural and expressive possibilities for an artist, in Jathar’s works the line unfolds against the backdrop of nature and connects with the five basic elements of air, water, space, fire and earth.
