Description
In the words of the artist - My medium is tempera on paper or canvas. I use the traditional method of tempera painting which goes back to the Indian Miniatures, though the material I use is totally contemporary. Seven to eight coats of transparent color are put on the surface, one after another to get a complete tone. Then I put in lakhs of hatchings and stipples using a very fine brush which gives the work a grainy texture. Knowledge of the wash paintings allows me to create a soft, twilight effect on the artwork.
