About Artist

Born 1982 at Halisahar, West Bengal, India Curiosity for visual engagement is the driving force in my work. I mostly love to work on gesture through portraits and figurative representation. I am working on sound and its impact on human through gestural expression. I prefer my canvas to express the space with variety of elements like colours, lines, textures and contours to showcase the wide possibilities of sound (in its various forms, noise, howl, honk, tinkle etc.) to have impact on us. I took the sound as an inspiration, as I feel it has a great strength as silence to move us psychologically. This particular quality would help me and viewers to sink into my conceptual compositions. I explore my world with an emphasis on various sounds and its impact on me and my surrounding through gestures. I observe them , make quick jottings to emerge with a strong vision that will reflect my concept and thought process. My work has been exhibited, curated and collected nationally and internationally in prestigious event like Art Miami 2019,spectrum Miami 2016, USA , Art Basel 2017, Switzerland, Emerging artist award2016, UAE . My works can be seen physically in various galleries across India.

Description

A pictorial montage depicting various sources of sounds in form of choirs, notes, noises, tinkles. The subject is passing through these forms every day. So she holds some cardboard, a bunch of papers and starts feeling her circumstance in a different way. She begins to visualize her cacophonic experience in different forms and colors. Her experience inspires me to take off this visual journey.
