About Artist

" Art transforms the mundane to the extraordinary" Ever inspired by the spaces I inhabit, the places I visit and the people I meet, I enjoy freeing the captured images in my mind onto canvas. My works are a translation of my tryst with the diversity that is India. Versatility is my forte and I enjoy experimenting with various genres and mediums. Bidding adieu to her corporate avatar of over a decade in multinational corporations and in a top hospitality group, I completed with a certificate of distinction, a two year online Diploma course in drawing and painting from London Art College. My journey has thus far been exhilarating, with many highs, reflecting my aim which is to explore the various facets of life with and through art, and thereby influence society at large. My works adorn various homes and corporate houses across India and worldwide in US, UK, New Zealand and Dubai. Among my notable commissioned works are the one recently done for ITC Ltd. For the public area of their Super Luxury Hotel - the ITC Royal Bengal. Another series on Bengal for a very well known Indian F&B chain for their London outlet. Another was an on-site series for a boutique hotel's calender near Simla, while another was a research based series for a corporate related to tribal and folk arts of India. Highlights : Image of my painting " Magan" has been chosen by the Government of India as a mascot for a Pan India project called Womaniya. The image is currently on the home page of their Govt. Website. One of my paintings found a feature and favourable mention in Shri Amitabh Bachchan's official blog. The newspaper Millenium Post has done a feature on my art journey.

Description

This is part of my series titled INDIA ON CANVAS, a travelogue from my visits across the country, caught in canvas instead of words. Done primarily with spatula, this is inspired by the Lakes of the Nainital district.
