About Artist

My name is Amit Nayek and I was born in 1978 in Howrah, West Bengal. I am fascinated by my surroundings. I enjoy observing people of modest backgrounds go through their daily routines. Moreover, the architecture of Howrah is another aspect of life that is dismissed by many. I want to bring viewers’ attention to the common elements of daily life through uncommon composition of colours in my paintings. I draw with the intention to draw attention to the myriad facets of the world. We tend to take the poor rickshaw-wallah, the humble fruit seller, etc. For granted. We do not pay attention to them; what they are wearing, how they put up their stalls each day, what they go through, and many such questions. I like to make these people the protagonists of my paintings.

Description

In My painting I try to find out various kind of known faces , some are very desirable to us and others are not so much. But we are all going together with those faces in our city life . The beautiful colors of my town areas are mostly inspired me to search the dramatic vision of those character in a different way.
