About Artist
Amarnath Sharma originally hails from Bokaro, Bihar. The artist’s perception of city life and his reaction to the situations come through his visuals and his paintings.'How much can you walk', 'Violence and Tea','Altitude the destination’, titles of the artist’s works which are an indication of his concerns. People, an integral part of the city, dominate his pictorial space, and each work is executed after much deliberation and thought towards subject matter as well as space definition.
Sharma uses solid forms and defined patterns to achieve a balance in his works. The sombre colors and visuals create an identity that every city goer can easily apprehend. Each one being a comment on the society in which we thrive and the life we choose to live.
Having also worked with graphics and clay, the artist prefers painting as his forte. Most of his works are done in acrylic colors. Sharma's passion for his art also extends to another dimension: teaching children. And from the children he guides, comes the inspiration of a fresh new perspective of the world we live in.
