AN INTERPLAY OF LIGHT AND SHADE, DARK AND LIGHT, AS GOLD BREAKS THROUGH A FOREBODING SKY. or is it that? part of my unfired clay and sand series, this work is on canvas, mounted on a 3" thick plywood box (yes its good quality waterproof plywood!) The quality of the paint flowing across the landscape harks back to my ceramic works where glazes flux and flow in a high-temperature firing, giving me results that are most unpredictable.... and rewarding.
