Born in 1932 in Bawal, Haryana, Om Prakash Sharma is a modernist who did a post graduation in Fine Arts at Columbia University in 1966. Sharma is known to have painted several abstract paintings in his career, experimenting with the Neo-Tantric art movement of the 1960s, and creating a series of ragamala paintings based on the eponymous theme.
