Sumon has been trying new themes into the traditional patachitra folk art form creating a distinctive style of his own. Like most other Chitrakars (Indian artists) in his community, Sumon too would rely on his imagination influenced by social and cultural surroundings and events of our times to create and transform new stories into wonderful patachitra scroll paintings and accompanying songs to express stories associated with those scrolls. His artworks have tribal motifs too reflecting life and culture of Santhal tribe.
