In this work, Unvala explores a visual, almost cartoonish image of great stress and discomfort. Memories that one may often like to forget, from childhood or otherwise, often weigh very heavily on the mind and body of the holder. In this grotesque experimentation with form, he draws on effect of skin rippling under a sudden crushing weight, along with the cartoonish notion of eyes 'popping out of the skull', grounded by the unsettling 'comfort' we have been told to imbibe from the ubiquitous cartoon bunny image.
