Titled ‘Gossip’, this group of three paintings aims to capture the spirit of casual conversations among friends, neighbours or relatives. In a world beneath the deep seas, the various pebble formations seem to gather together in the shape of human faces and connect as if they are sharing facts, views or trivia. The central painting depicts a wall of pebbles/stones through which information travels from one set of people to another. ‘Fish’ represent the thoughts or words that float and flow along the waves of communication and/ or change. Observed carefully, the two walls also complete the side profiles (faces) of two people engaged in spreading the latest juicy piece of gossip!
