Raktim Parashar is an Assamese artist whose ink drawings are influenced by his everyday surroundings. He appropriates mundane, discarded objects, creating a virtual world through his drawings that give renewed life to dysfunctional industrial waste and decrepit architecture. By reviving objects, one seems to trace the history, evolution and erosion of these components, together with their renewed life-forms. Rumi's Song investigates the shifts in people and architecture over time. Split into 3 panels, it depicts varying moments of life that oscillates from loss of communication to rediscovery and finally reunification evoked through love between individuals.
