Cow is a subject that catches my attention for its simplicity. The almost mute, domesticated creature catering to mans needs. The series is about magical moment of dawn, when cattle dreamily welcome the sun, the rusty bells around their necks creating the magical symphony of ethereal sound. This moment has always captivated me, filling my being with myriad emotions. My fascination of the brooding form of cows leads me on to paint this series. Since my eyes can merely trace the contours of their physical form, I start with this. My quest remains to penetrate the quite world they dwell in and give it a visible form. My paintings in this series are an effort to do this. Through my spontaneous outburst of colour and form, I have attempted to recreate that magical sound of yore.
