Welcome to the world of Resin Paintings.
Vidya Mukund is a self-taught artist who calls herself ArtistByPassion.
Who believes that When god decided to create human beings, he also decided that human beings will be creators. Creators of themselves, of a better world, of art. While art is about having a sense of aesthetics, it is more importantly about a sense of expression and the ability to make someone feel something. Painting for me is coming back home to myself; an act so simple yet so satisfying. From using a brush, a palette knife or simply pouring a mixture of resin and paint on a board to see where the journey would take me this time. There's this whole possibility of giving birth to new colors, new textures. It becomes a journey so vast and arid that sometimes I become lost in the process. I wouldn't have it any other way though.
The act of putting down my thoughts and emotions into canvases is often a personal one. It's just me and the wakes and the pencils. As long as I don't drool much over the canvas, the colors come out pretty good. It becomes a way of expressing myself and all that I have got, quite often what's hidden inside me.
I think that's also why I am drawn to paint open, lush, large, landscapes. I feel closer to nature. I know that if I keep pushing my work, it will eventually give way to some expression of enchanting colors. My aim is to create pulsating, luminous, and open surfaces that reflect my insight in accordance with nature and life.
A lot can be said about painting. Painting is silent poetry and it is the poetry that speaks. Painting is also self-discovery. Every good artist paints what he is. Painting is a lot of things but it's also a love that I have in me. Something that I am always going to nurture and be fond of at the same time. The sheer joy of seeing the colors come alive from my memory is what keeps me going.
Chris Kraus said that every letter is a love letter. I would like to rephrase that. I believe that every painting is an expression of true love.
