I paint to live. To be alive. From my childhood, I have seen painters around, be it my family, teachers or friends. Due to the social expectations and my own confusion, I never perused a degree in art. Though, I was taught painting since the age of 6.
Color, canvas, brush and paper are like my closest friends today. I can cry, laugh and even get angry with them. During the journey of life, a person goes through ups and downs at an emotional and situational aspect. I just want to capture those aspects in color and lines. May be it’s a representation of the current environment, but getting above the time and being universal is the ultimate goal. That’s the same reason why a deformed refrigerator, a washing machine and wooden wardrobe becomes the subject for my paintings. The deformations of the Refrigerator, the diversity of colors in the flower vase and the abstract lines of the jungle, in the paintings, represents individual emotional states.
For me the main attributes of painting are sensitivity, emotion, passion and skill. I start working from an emotional turmoil, but I finish the painting as an artist, focusing on the artistic attributes of the painting, keeping the emotions intact. Thus the painting metamorphoses into a journey from subconscious to conscious,
Opaque and impasto are my main technique. Acrylic on canvas and ink on paper are my main medium. Though I always start with a layout, but by the time the canvas is done, it barely resembles the layout. My studio is like my laboratory. I research on painting. Practice painting to take painting ahead by inventing new ways to see and paint. I aim to take art ahead, ahead and ahead...
