Painting has remained constantly inside me, it is something I have been pursuing since my college days. After a long time, I reconnected with painting as a way of knowing the world, beyond being just a mother, wife and daughter. Today, I am a self-taught artist fro New Delhi, India. As an avid traveler, I have had the exposure and experience of working with many National and International artists over a period of time. I have read extensively on various forms of art an deeply studied the lives and works of masters. I have also served as an Art teacher at Mirambika School- Aurbindo Ashram, New Delhi, where I got exposed to a philosophy of life that allowed me complete space to express my creativity. It is through these interactions, and in varying surroundings that my skills as a painter have evolved.

I want to see and sense the objects that I paint, rather than to simply reproduce them. Most of my paintings are impressions of my observations that I express with total freedom of formulation using vibrant colors and bold strokes. My way of art practice is more about being with the 'Act of Painting' where I try to suspend my consciousness and let colors
& forms flow through me.

My Abstract works are unrestrained by formal academic logic of composition and balance, thus allowing myself to explore my own subjectivity, opening the doors to imagination. taking me to a different high and deeper understanding of Self and Universe.

See What Indian Artist Rashmi khurana thinks about Painting

Painting for me is a passion. I use oil and acrylic colours, as well as other mediums like on paper I use pastels, pens or whatever I get. Nature is my inspiration as I am Nature lover. My life is also an inspiration for me and so is the way I connect with people and myself in the day to day life. Since my childhood I loved painting and music. I love buying colours especially crayons. My cupboard was always full of pretty crayons and water colours. Painting for me is a compulsion because it helped me evolve as a person. It also keeps me happy and content. My paintings speak to me; hence they are a language for me to express myself. I like to spend time with them. They are an autobiography of my everyday life, page by page.
