At first glance Pragati’s works are an eye-catching blend of vibrant colors, intricate motifs, flora and fauna and human figurines. On a closer look they emerge to be thought-provoking narratives with deeper meanings and influences from cultures around the world.
Pragati was born in India in 1980 and has traveled all over the world with her family. This piqued her interest and has become a life-long journey to draw inspiration from the myriad cultures and traditions. She was tagged as exceptionally creative since childhood, and went on to get a Bachelors Degree in Architecture and a Masters Degree in Product Design, striking the right balance between raw talent and rigorous formal training. She is a globetrotter and a storyteller by nature. After finishing her formal education she lived in Europe and further explored the synergy between Art, Design & Architecture - so similar and yet so different!
She is an artist by passion and a methodical innovator by education and she leverages this special array of skills, knowledge and passion in her exotic works - transparent layers of paint, coming alive with labyrinthine details, within the hem of aesthetics, creating visually appealing compositions.
She divides her time between India and US to get the best of both worlds, and in her studio she blends various forms of fine arts, performing arts & design to create multi-sensory experiences that touch the viewer in positive and spiritual ways.

My studio is my favourite room in the house as well as my paradise, I surround myself with objects I love and feel emotionally connected to. I have a strong sense of composition which I owe partly to my training in architecture and design and to my guru Dr. Gambhir from Amrtisar, whom I was very lucky to meet in the States many years ago, he offered to help me out with my painting which helped me very much. It's like for being a visual treat, I need to offer something extra to make my work speculative. I intertwine concepts of literature, mythology and fantasy in my work while strictly following the principles of art. I like involving texts from the devanagari scripts to add a deeper meaning and I use saturated colours. I have been exploring anthropomorphic animals , initially mythological creatures inspired me and now I fuse animals and humans together in my work which is quirky as well as meaningful. I intend to continue this for a while as it is has endless possibilities and is a lot of fun.

I am delighted to have discovered Mojarto; an excellent idea and a godsend to all artists, especially those of us who are emerging (from our shells, presumably). The entire staff is top-notch professionals who strive to use ART as a life-enriching tool for artists as well as the collectors. They do a stellar job of seeing to my needs, listening to my suggestions and actually acting on them. Having promoters who are artists themselves really makes a huge difference in understanding an artists needs. Positive affirmation is one of the most effective ways to foster motivation and champion the art novice. Thank you for the opportunities you provide through consistent sales, regular promotions and features on your website and on social media - its apparent that the exposure factor goes beyond what we realize! I look forward to a very long association with Mojarto.
