Ravikanth Masuram, an artist from Andhra Pradesh, is famous for bringing life to royal portraits that he creates from history of subcontinent. His brilliance can be gauged from the fact that these portraits are not just depictions of the past but they also make us aware of our position at a post- modern era that generally looks back at history. Of particular importance is his brilliant ‘Royal dict-art’ series that narrate famous stories of royalty. The emotions that he triggers through his paintings are of nostalgia and reminiscence. His recent works are inspired from studio photography, which he witnessed growing up in his father’s photo studio. He has done more than 8 solo exhibitions up till now. Ravikanth is an awe-inspiring source of Indian Art in Dubai.
