I grew up surrounded by art. At the dining table, the conversations often used to be about Picasso, Van Gogh and about Jackson Pollock. My mother is a professional artist and my father loves to sculpt with wood. Artworks and artists had a free run in our house and I gravitated towards art.

In 2003, when I was 17 years old, I was commissioned to create my first professional piece of artwork. Over the years, I have been commissioned to create numerous pieces and have often been invited to participate in art shows and exhibitions. I have been fortunate enough to have received several awards and other forms of recognition along the way.

In 2009, I began teaching art to groups starting at just four years of age. In 2011, I became an art teacher at the Forest Hill Elementary School in Mobile, Alabama. I also ran after-school projects for YADA House (a charity) and the Mobile Museum of Art, Alabama. From teaching underprivileged students at YADA to being a part of the summer program - Art Blast, at the Mobile Museum of Art, teaching art in the United States has indeed been a wonderful journey.
During my teaching career, both with adults and children, I tried to make art accessible to all and to imbibe in my students an appreciation for art and beauty in everything from everyday objects to the Impressionists!

I really feel that there is much to be done in encouraging an appreciation of art, understanding its many therapeutic advantages, and acknowledging its power to unleash creativity in all of us.
In 2013, I moved from the United States to India. India was a revelation and I fell in love with the country as soon as I first visited it in 2010. Artists of India present a palette of experiences: visual, auditory, and tactile. I have since learnt about the different forms of art here like the Bengal school and Madhubani art and so many more. India has become my muse. I think of my art as not just a reflection of beauty, but of translating ideas and experiences into forms of art.

I now live and work in New Delhi, India and the United States of America.
