I am an image maker, both static and moving, as a visual artist and a filmmaker. Painting and cinema, the eldest and the youngest member in the family of artistic expression share a common characteristic; both represent the world through the rectangular frame. I rejoice this kinship. I view the world and express my self-reflection or a worldview, inner or outer, onto this rectangular surface, canvas or screen. Normally I see everything, but when I create I became selective about what to include within a frame.

Presently in the paintings I am depicting my contemporary views through Indian mythology. I am reluctant to paint the real world which I see keeping my eyes wide open. Closing my eyes, I find doorways to my imaginary world. Dream brings a surreal tone, my subconscious and conscious thoughts interweave the basis of my artwork. I source metaphors from the real visible world, crook and tamper them pursuing my inner feeling.

Movement is another important element in my painting. I observe impermanence in the spreading out of nature. Moments that have passed with time, but left an impression in my mindscape contributes to my painting. Reflections of many such events come to my painting in disguise.

I have participated in group exhibitions of paintings in the art galleries and very recently in an online group show on video art. As a filmmaker, I have made feature, documentary, short and experimental films, which got screened at national and international film festivals.
