Its been a few years I am living in a small flat in South Kolkata as my ancestral house in central Kolkata is in a dilapidated state, I bought the flat with my life’s savings, bank lone & my wife’s contribution in the form of money and her wedding jewelries but for me it is so difficult to call in my home. May be the clock does not tick any more, the time has taken the colors off from the Earthen sculpture but my roots are still hanging precariously from those large hear-ted 19th century buildings with fat walls huge doors and high ceilings and classical architecture. My son probably smells morbid time in them but for me each piece of century old brick spells life..... without telling any one I come here alone. At times I share a burnt chapter a glass of tea with the hand pull rickshaw pullers who had no place in this city, so my grand father let them occupy a small corner even before I was born. To be true, I can relate with them much more then I do with who ever I meet in the flat that I live in. It is more of a shelter my homes are waiting to be razed into oblivion.....
