I am a realist artist, greatly inspired by the Western tradition of Realism. My schooling was purely based on academic techniques of western painting from one of the oldest art institute in India, established in mid 19th century by the British rulers now known as Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata.
After art college education I had chosen a career of full time professional artist to carry out my ambition in the field of contemporary art. It is not a very easy task to carry on a freelance career as an artist in India and no exception for me but still have the dream to achieve success in the world of art. I am dedicated in the service of art and want to continue for the future.
My art is conventional and technique is traditional but not the repetition of past. I am a modern realist in the true sense. I see the phenomenal world around me, the changing relation between mankind and civilization is the guiding force in my creativity. I have a deep analytical mind and it carry the messages that is something beyond the objective reality. These are the symbolic expression of my thinking when I place them on the canvas. I like to observe almost every incident occurring in front of me and when some these happening touch and excited my mind I start to develop idea about the creative form and start them to be animated in the painting.
All paintings on Mojarto Gallery somehow interrelated with its' subjects. The basic theme is 'Identity Crisis' of different subjects, with the dominance of gray color tone and contrast vibrant color like green, blue and red in my palette to create balance and harmony according to the different mood of the paintings but a melancholic mood is common in each painting and that is my nature. It is derived from my love for the painting, literature & music of European Romantic Period. I like modern realist painter like Thomas Eakins, Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth, Especially the style of Andrew Wyeth deeply influenced some of these paintings in regards to subject and composition.
Thank you for viewing my art works.
