About Artist

Born in 1989, Aban Raza is a young contemporary artist, the daughter of famous art historian Nuzhat Kazmi. Aban's artistic journey began long before she could comprehensively understand the subject. Having done her Bachelors and Master's degrees both from the College of art, New Delhi, Aban lends her a strong voice to her work.

“To me no issue of human existence is too irrelevant – to be neither ignored nor too grand to be glorified. To me human life and its social beauty or violations of it are themes that my art should find artistic ways to express and engage with. My art should show an intelligibility that I hold of the world I live in, and where there is no clarity – my art should in the process of making it – bring perspicuity. As an artist, my prime objective is, while sustaining and enhancing the aesthetics, to support a commentary, which encourages efforts and actions for the betterment of society. Here, for me, as an artist – Art works as a great proactive tool, a profession to spread awareness and to talk about multiple human realities and human existence.”
